1969 MGC GT Manual overdrive with power steering.

Finished in the ever desirable and sought after 'British Racing' Green with chrome wire wheels, contrasting black seats with white piping and full length 'Webasto' sliding sunroof, this impeccable MGC is one of only approximately 450 MGC GTs registered in the UK making the car a very rare sports car indeed.

As with all MGCs it is fitted with the super smooth 2913cc straight-six engine transforming the drive from the MGB's 1798 four cylinder engine. Although a beautifully refined engine the extra weight made the steering very heavy. although this example has the huge benefit of feather light power steering with a lovely feel to it, to address this common issue and make the drive a far more pleasurable experience.

Acquired by its last owner in 2016 it has had little use apart from summer outings to classic car shows and has always been garage stored. During his ownership, he had four brand new chrome wire wheels fitted, new clutch, carburettors serviced, cleaned and balanced, new brakes and fuel pump.

Subject to a very comprehensive restoration some years ago this MGC presents in exceptional condition throughout. The paintwork is unmarked with a glorious lustre and depth of shine. The body panels are excellent. The under bonnet has been detailed to a high standard. The interior is a beautiful place to be with excellent seats, carpets and door cards complimented by a wood rim 'Motalita' steering wheel. The underside is solid with good rust protection with excellent sills, jacking points, outriggers, front and rear panels.

In the very comprehensive history file, we have all the invoices for works carried out by the last owner along with reams of previous invoices dating back many years and old Mots etc. We have the current V5 and even the original green log book showing its original date of registration of 07/05/1969. The recorded mileage is 19000 miles.

The engine starts on the button and is unbelievably smooth and quiet, the manual overdrive gearbox is precise, the clutch working perfectly and excellent brakes.

In summary, this is a beautiful well maintained, cared for example and an absolute joy to drive. In the colour with chrome wire wheels, It just looks as a traditional late 1960s MG should!

Classed as a historic vehicle it benefits from Mot exemption and free road tax, although we have had this car Mot'd and has a full 12 months Mot with no advisories.
