1977 S Triumph Stag 3.0 V8 Automatic with hard and soft tops.

Having owned many Stags over the years, I had always sought the ultimate and seemingly elusive, best most original pristine example available.

Finally Hazel was found, amazingly only 20 miles away from my home address in Northampton. Finished in stunning 'Russet' brown with tan interior, retaining her original Triumph 3.0 V8 engine & automatic gearbox. The body and paintwork is outstandingly original. The panels are perfect in every respect with all original wheel arches, doors, bonnet, boot lid, front and rear panels. Amazingly the notorious rear quarters to sill joins are totally original having never had repairs. The paintwork is beautiful with a deep lustre and depth of shine. The chrome is perfect, as new. The interior is very much like new with perfect seats, carpets and door cards. The underside is original, having never been welded with perfect sills, floor pans and outriggers etc.

Hazel had a substantial ammount of time and money lavished on her by the last owner of nine years cosseted in a dry warm garage including a reconditioned gearbox, fully overhauled braking system inc wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake pads, brake pipes. The suspension was also overhauled with all new standard bushes and new road springs. New stainless steel exhaust, radiator, oil cooler, high torque starter motor, coolant hoses and clips, breather pipes, fuel pipes, carburettor diaphrams, spark plugs, air filter, drive belts, bonnet insulation pad and fuel pump. All five alloy wheels were refurbished and fitted with brand new 'Uniroyal' tyres. The underbonnet was detailed to a very high standard, much like new.

To satisfy my desire to own possibly the best orginal Stag available, soon after my purchase she was entrusted to Stag specialists 'E J Wards of Bruntingthorpe' who treated her to a new mohair hood cover and webbing, serviced hood frame and powder coated, new seat foams and covers. The engine cooling system was flushed and refilled with the correct antifreeze mixture. The carburettors were set up and balanced. During her time with them, they substantiated her quality and originality as possibly, the best Stag they had seen in fifty years.

Upon her return I fitted a brand new set of carpets . I had the paintwork professionally polished and ceramic coated as used on brand new cars for protection

The history file of Hazel is incredibly detailed and comprehensive, including a huge amount of invoices, reciepts, old photographs, tax discs plus the all important 'Passport to service' book with 15 service stamps, hadbooks and wiring diagram etc

Within the folder is an invoice for a complete engine rebuild by the highly recognised Stag specialists 'Hart racing services' 11,000 miles ago.

Hazel has covered just 77000 miles from new backed up by previous Mots dating back to 1995 preceeded by the service book from day one.

She feels, drives and smells very much like one could imagine driving one straight off the production line in the 1970s!

This is my own personal car and Hazel is now reluctantly for sale due to a change of personal circumstances. She is now classed as a historic vehicle, benefiting from free road tax and Mot exempt however I am happy to have her Mot'd for piece of mind.
